Chapter One: The Deviant Crystals

The Nightmares, also known as the Broken World, are the worst versions of each soul. Twisting the worlds they are bound to into insidious caricatures of themselves, the Nightmares seek to escape their dead home and usurp the living lands to escape the one thing grave enough to strike fear into a monster's heart: the Cataclysm. Written by the quill of time, it's the legend marked by a comet's streak meant to signal the Nightmares' downfall. However, these monsters weren't always this way. They were once people with hopes and wishes and dreams. This is the tale of how some of the most beloved people were turned into heartless drones- and how the curse binding them transformed their lively home into a shattered dream.
