Prologue

In the modern setting in an unnamed coastal town,

Lukas, a half-merman befriends Jessica, a wealthy but unhappy human who's expected to be wed off against her will to strengthen her father's company. She spends her final days of her freedom while bonding with a new friend. Arranged marriages aren't easy to break, especially for the rich. So the merman made sure to wash her worries away as he could, counting down the days before the wedding. Exploring the ocean made the girl realize, in life, there's always a new discovery that grants the most valuable treasure one will forever cherish.
