The passing of this story is quick and leaping, jumping from scene to scene with little to no context of when or where this happened, just the fact you're seeing it and witnessing it. The meaning of the pace is supposed to represent how childhood trauma can come up at any moment from any choice of poor spoken words or actions, and how agressively it can leech onto your skin when you try to tackle the subject or you are exposes to triggering sights.
