Description

"Lily vs. the Minotaur." That's how she'd title her work memoir. How a girl -who grew up outside and never wore much jewelry- ended up working in a labyrinth with literal heaps of diamonds and precious stones on her desk was a mystery, even to her. But grown-up Lily had worked at Daveney Diamonds for four whole years now, largely designing rings for prospective brides and sometimes delivering coffees. However, her own left hand was decidedly ringless. A fact that almost everyone cared to point out with (... flattering?) astonishment. She didn't mind a bare ring finger, though. She was quite certain that most single men of her age moonlighted as devils. Cross her heart and salt over shoulder, she would not be caught unawares. Again. Aaron Tavarious was the actual worst of them, though. The metaphorical Minotaur that periodically wandered through the Daveney Diamonds maze, looking for maidens to devour. The animosity was mutual. Aaron liked to call Lily "Lil' Shelob", which was a nerdy reference she pretended to not understand. Lily liked to call Aaron "Aamon," and it might have been the best day of her life when she caught him googling it and got to watch his stupidly beautiful face just- take it all in. She had to give it to him, though. She was a little like the infamous spider. Lily loved to trap him in her webs, if only to watch him struggle. All her scheming and plans went awry though, and Lily Antuara was faced with a hard situation. Too hard. A situation that might lead to her leaving Daveney Diamonds altogether. It was just - suspicious - that Aaron seemed to want to help her. To stay, that is. If she didn't know better, she'd say he seemed almost... desperate to keep her in that Labyrinth with him. Maybe forever. ***This is my FIRST book*** **I appreciate you reading so much! Though I have a plot in mind, comments will help me so much with tweaks and bonus content!**
