Description
We are all born human, but not all of us stay that way. Leora and Alistair Amery are the descendants of a god. Forcas Smithson, who lived centuries before them, whose story forever lays dormant on their tongues, carved into their hearts. The death of their great-uncle Al reawakens the divinity in their blood. They find themselves in a different world entirely and find a mysterious letter from their uncle Cas, telling them where to find him and nothing else. Together the twins and their companion from their old home, Kit, must find Cas and the other gods so that they might complete the rites and become divinity, while also conquering their new powers and abilities. Leora must learn to control the animals of the new land, and how to change her shape as the prophecy foretells, lest she ends up turning into a beast completely. Alistair must conquer light and flames, or risk burning out entirely.
