Intro...

In this world there is no government. The land is ruled by the beings who fight for every last tree. Territories are managed by groups who fight for everything they have. To be alone is giving up. Magicks rule the majority. If a being knows magic, or excels, they've guaranteed their survival till the end of the day. No real society just beings finding other beings they can get along with and surviving with them.

I lived in an old trailer. It was hundreds of years old, renovated with boards and scrap metal. It couldn't move and it probably never did after I abandoned it. But this isn't a story about the shitty millennium old trailer I lived in for a few years. This is about how the Old World became the Last World. Time after this world stopped moving.

We needed a place to retreat to when this one went under. The water was rising and the land had a time limit. There were too many people, too much power, the land was tainted with people who didn't care about one another. What we did was for the good of the human race. We were the last ones. And the land was sinking. We had to find an alternate route in order to save anyone we could. The youth. We did it for the youth.

We wanted to find another place. Another world that we could thrive in, a place the youth could learn from our mistakes, and make a new society. But we couldn't find on in time. While looking for a portal, or a bridge to another place, we found something. It was a key. It opened the door to a whole world of science we knew nothing about. We were able to create a world. And we created something phenomenal.

But, we didn't know the cost. We should've known. It only made sense. It was only right that it was a world for a world. Our new world, the back up safe haven, the phenomenal achievement that was going to save us all, costed the old world.
