Chapter 1. Thunder & Lightning

The name Nyx Blowfis didn't exactly roll off her tongue, but at least it didn't make her flinch upon hearing it. She knew she would never hear her name said like that again until her sister had lived a long life and passed on, as they had promised her. She was starting a new life in a new world, free from monsters, and living a completely ordinary human existence with her younger sibling. She never anticipated that the man, with his melancholy gaze fixed on the window, would drag her and her sibling back into a realm of enchantment and creatures beyond imagination.

But chaos always did, like a little bit of death.
