prologue- Charlie begins

Following the tragic fire that claimed her parents' lives, Charlotte "Charlie" Brooks was relocated to Los Angeles to reside with her aunt and uncle. However, the words of a wise firefighter remained etched in her mind, as he had previously remarked, "You fought your way through that fire like a champ. You'll make an excellent firefighter someday." At the age of 18, her life comes full circle when she reunites with the same firefighter and does exactly that.
