Douma is emotionless. Everybody knows this, including the demon king himself. What happens when Muzan wants to see just how ruthless Douma can be without a train of thought as well?

Muzan makes a new potion, that sets a demon back to primitive instincts. To avoid wasting material, he hasn't tested it yet. Seeing as how little he likes Douma, he decides to make him his guinea pig, and makes Akaza monitor him.
