Description
The consequence of killing an innocent person is a burden he has been warned about but has never experienced. He understands that their blood would stain him, creating a never-ending memory that constantly plays in his mind, a relentless reminder of actions taken for survival. Though Azriel possesses the capability to kill without remorse, his moral code serves as a chain that restrains his darker nature. This self-imposed boundary keeps him from descending into complete indifference towards human lives. Despite his natural detachment and the ease with which he could end a life, Azriel adheres to this moral constraint, knowing that crossing that line would strip away his humanity. If he ever embraced the monstrous side within him, Azriel would undoubtedly welcome it - and that was what troubled him deeply.
