15 year old Jim lives in a farmhouse just outside of Riverside Iowa with his abusive stepfather Frank. 16 year old Spock moves in next door along with his parents.

Frank hates Vulcans and Gays alike. And Spock is betrothed to T'Pring. His family expects them to bond, even though she can't stand him.

Even with all of that, Jim and Spock fall for each other before discovering that they are T'hy'la.
