Prologue

Suddenly turning around, she faced the bushes as the deer exploded from them. Foam erupted from its mouth, splattering on the soil as the fawn ran towards her. Iris grabbed her knife from the belt conveniently strapped on her waist and braced herself. She had to kill the deer or die trying.
