Chapter 1: May God Have Mercy on your Souls

Born and raised in the rural west, 17 year old Magnolia Clark has faced enough hardships growing up on her family's homestead before the outbreak of the apocalypse. As if droughts and disease weren't enough, Magnolia is forced to abandon her only home after it's ravaged by what the locals like to call peepers. Husks that impersonate your loved ones, by the time you've realized it's not them it's too late. With no word or any sign of help from the government, Magnolia sets off in search of a rumored safe haven in Arizona.
