Before the Story

Dirty water splashed up onto my jeans when I crossed the flooded street. I heard squealing tires behind me, coming from the alleyway I had just passed.

"I'll get you bitch," he laughed. He knew this game very well; cat and mouse is his specialty.

I sprinted faster, tears seeping from my eyes, mixing with the rain water. Fear dripped into my blood. Is this really how I was going to die?
