Prologue

This poignant story about love and loss focuses on Andrea Summers and Jaime Sterling. After losing her mother to cancer, Andrea Summers decides to volunteer at the hospital in an attempt to help make up for the time she lost when she didn't know her mother was sick. There she meets Jaime, who is also suffering from cancer. The nightmare of it looms over their lives as they start falling in love. With the threat of Jaime's unsupportive ex-girlfriend coming in and out of Jaime's life, and Andy's friends interfering to keep her from going through another heartbreak, Jaime and Andy's love for each other helps them find healing and closure.
