Prologue

Three women are trying to survive Ketterdam while in the matriarchal gang, the Widows. Win, struggling to have it all and straddling the life of working as a bartender while trying to secure the life as a merchant's wife. Megaera, drowning in inherited debt, attempts to invent her way to freedom and to get justice for her family. And Clementine, the secret granddaughter to the Widow's boss, struggles to step up to the expectations placed on her until she's the only one left who can make things right.
