It had been years since he disappeared. He was a ghost, he didn't exist in the system. Any traces of him remained in memories. But they can always be altered over time, either by forgetting or having someone else do it.

"Izuku sighed as he looked down upon the city lights. Five years, five years after the incident. And the city was more or less the same. It's time..."
