Le Mans, Anjou, 1138

Geoffrey of Nantes was born the second son to Empress Matilda and Geoffrey of Anjou. Overshadowed by his elder brother, Henry FitzEmpress, the future King of England and Count of Anjou, Geoffrey cannot help but feel jealous.

As war rages in England and Normandy in a civil war that his mother is part of, Geoffrey's ambition grows. Fighting becomes a second instinct to the young Angevin and soon he thinks to take what he can from those closest to him.
