Eleanor Furness hates being rich. She despises the lavish, old mansions, the materialistic lifestyle, the pompous attitudes, and the careless nature of it all. Even more than that, she hates her father, who was the sole reason she was brought up in such a cold, unloving world of wealth. When she gets a message from him pulling her back into this life, she thought it couldn't get any weirder. But on that same day, her childhood best friend shows up, out of the blue, on her doorstep looking for help so he can slither his way into one of the richest, slimiest, families in New York City.

As secrets and betrayal unfolds around her, she finds herself reentering the cruel corporate world once again, and unraveling how she got so tied up in it. Is it all just to spite her dad, or is there a conniving, clever player of the game underneath her surface? Will Eleanor and Greg be able to save each other before the battle for power and love rids them of their humanity?
