Prologue

In the years leading up to the Crusades, the Seljuk Empire, which is at its zenith, is threatened from within by secret military vanguards, heretical assassins, and rebellious warlords. Kizilboga Bey, son of the chief of a Turkic clan, finds himself in the middle of this war, a conflict which will eventually shape the course of world politics.
