That's because he is a man that works in the underworld of society, meaning he works with criminals and villains.

Well not really because in truth he is actually Just a under world doctor.

He gets paid to make sure certain villains are healed and well.

For the most part his life as this type of doctor Has been going well for him.....that was until the Justice League showed up.
