[Book 1 - The Magical Islands Of Da] Cole Newman had never once considered a life of adventure or risk, he always stuck to what he knew. From looking at the dull open plains each day to feeling like a pushover when next to others. One day Cole receives a permission slip from his school to go on a field trip, one that would involve being on a ship. For once Cole felt like he couldn't miss the opportunity for adventure, he could experience something new. Before going on his field trip, he is shocked to learn terrible news from his family. Little did he know his life would change during the field trip after accidentally falling off the ship and into sea. Miraculously he survives and wakes up in a place he could never have imagined, a place where he could experience so many different communities involved with mystical powers, to making new friends where he could feel understood. However, the terrible news from his family still stuck in his head, he knew he had to go back home. Cole's journey from there is tested by someone who wants something he has. For Cole, this would require him to make decisions that would not only affect himself but also the people around him. How far is he willing to go to see his family one more time?
