He ends up in a Boston QZ and gets tangled up in a mess with fireflies. He takes a 14-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl who might be humanity's last hope. They try to find fireflies. When they don't find them he travels across the world to find his brother who has been radio silent and apart of the fireflies. On there way they make a bond and makes it even harder to watch them leave.
