Prologue: Help

Kidnapped at age six, I was taught I was nothing more than my number-84626. My life was one of pain and fear, freedom was not an option in my young mind. Five years, secrets, false hope... Am I really just a number? These new people sure don't think so, but what do they know? I've lived with no hope, they don't know anything..... but maybe I don't either.
