Description
It's Joseon dynasty. The emperor is holding an extravagant ball, called "the diamond extravaganza" it's only for the elite and power of the country to reunite and sign new contracts and agreements with nearby countries, scholars are thrilled and royal families are preparing their best attire to make as much presence as possible. This ball will define who is worth in the eyes of the emperor, guaranteeing them a high position, everyone is doing their best, required to presence themselves with a spouse or someone that needs marriage to arrange. However, the emperor seems distracted by a scholar, and is the only one unaccompanied, what's going on? the emperor is often called the tyrant of this era, he never wished to hold such parties, "he and his ministers are enough" were his words. However the empress dowager, mother of his, would always insist, assuring him that in those occasions he will find love and peace for the country. The ball is here, he is alone, everyone is chatting, eating and having a good time. He's observing everyone, till his eyes meet a scholar, drinking soju with the ministers, he seems uncomfortable, and looks around, the both of them end up having eye contact, the curiosity of the emperor that won't stop staring and the fear yet confusion of the scholar that doesn't know when to stop looking in his direction. "What is this feeling? What is this energy?" Is all that is going on in their minds.
