Prologue

Aurora resides with her mother and is used to the cold ways of her dealings. She keeps to herself, and is content to stay away from idiotic society.

Ember lives with her dad. The fiery fun she represents has attracted lots of friends, but also lots of trouble in detention many days after school.

Both girls are already set in their ways, but when their paths cross everything changes. They develop an unlikely friendship and unwillingly begin to unravel the world as they knew it. Who is their real enemy?
