Prologue

Mariana Smith Pascal-Miller is a twenty-seven-year woman who has lived a life filled with loneliness, disappointment, grief and abandonment. Although she has been accepted to UCLA and is on her way to leaving her home state, her poor health is also a factor. Just when she's suffered enough, someone from her past decides to come back into her life and embarks on a journey that will either make or break her spirit.
