Chapter 1: The Return Home

Alex Bowman prided himself on keeping things private, and doing things his own way. It meant keeping the circle small - and not associating with a lot of people. However, a single night and a choice to hang out with someone ultimately landed him in a lot of hot water.

Jay Halstead left the Chicago Police Department Intelligence Unit to return back to the Army, feeling it was a necessary needed change of pace at the time. A visit home to see his wife and others results in a request from his old boss to return to the unit on a case.
