Description
Time heals no wounds. Emir was chosen for the throne of Calormen, which made the Narnians' advisors content. The other possible candidates for selection would have been less ideal to forge an alliance. Ayman was known for unruly behaviour, in politics and in his bed chambers. Zehra, perhaps the more obvious choice for Tisroc, does not forgive past transgressions. As it stands with Emir ruling, the Narnian royalty might be able to secure an alliance with the Calromene Empire for the first time in centuries. That is, until High King Peter decides to play the hero on a rescue mission for a star, accidentally foiling the mission of Zehra. Now Zehra is incredibly spiteful. An entire desert separates Zehra from the high king, which is not nearly enough. However, when she is invited to spend the winter in Narnia to help improve their political alliance, she struggles to refuse the offer. Especially since the proximity to Narnian magic might help spare her a worse fate.
