After killing Diablo and freeing the high heavens with Kormac, Lyndon, and Eirena, the High Heavens decided to get rid of the Nephalem despite him defeating their most powerful adversary. Imperious decides to send the Nephalem, along with his companions to the world of Remnant, as a way to deal with them without trouble. What they didn't account for was Imperious's spell going haywire....
