Prologue

Roland Thorne is a boy living in the technologically developing nation of Aztella that is doing all that it can to expand its borders. Living with his father, who ran from the military with Roland's mother, the two of them own a small farm in northern most village in Aztella which allows them to live out their days in peace but with Aztella becoming desperate to find a way to protect its borders, Roland and his father get tangled into the one thing that his father tried to protect them from. Their only hope of escape is a traveling Botanist, someone who has devoted their life to studying the plant life in and around the country. The organization of Botanists in Aztella have a heavier impact on the future than anyone in Aztella could imagine.
