He hums, pretending to consider my offer, "no, I don't think that'll do". Suddenly he's pushing me backwards, his hands at my hips, his fingers gripping me through my large t-shirt. I stumble as my back hits the shelves behind me, but his grip holds me tight. "What the hell Theo-" I yell at him. "Do you know what I really want?" he says, his voice lower and sounding weirdly strangled, like he's holding in a secret. "N-no" I stumble on my answer as he smirks at me. He leans forward, the pressure of his hands on my hips burning as he brings his lips to my ear. "A favour". He hovers with his face alarmingly close to mine, his body a hairsbreadth away from being pushed flush against me. I can feel the heat radiating off of him, and the faint scent of burnt wood. Kayla Hadley and her family are returning to their hometown, Briar Glen, four years after their bold move out of the secluded place. But what she comes back to is not the Briar Glen she remembers.
