Description
My limbs were set ablaze with excruciating agony, tormented cries rang out from around me. For just a moment I could see through the azure lightning that surrounded me and brilliantly lit the once darkened chamber in a blinding light. Those screams of suffering I realized weren't from one voice, my voice, but a mix of hundreds. Dozens of men and women clawed at the walls until blood coated where they once had fingertips. Others reached meaninglessly towards the air, screaming for their god, for mercy, in a futile attempt to placate the black shadows that, much like arms, grasped from the infinite to pull them into the depths of, what I could only assume to be, Hell. I cursed my mother, my responsibility, and the alchemy that led me to this end... and the shadows seized hold of me too and dragged me into a suffocating blackness. "Welcome." Then, I awoke.
