Now he was laughing at me. I straightened and turned to lean against the pole with my back to him. Maybe it was time to find a nice girl to date. The trouble was I hadn't been interested in anyone enough to want to go on a date, and I wasn't the kind to do one night stands. My eyes flipped to Alex. He was smiling and laughing at something Tyler was saying. I was happy for him but if I really let it be felt, I was jealous, a little that Tyler got him and I didn't, but I think it was more that they were together and happy and I had no one. I'd finally hit that age I wanted family and children. "Here." A plate appeared in front of me. I looked around and saw Mike holding it out. "What's this?" "That's commonly known as food. You eat it. I've noticed you favor the mushroom soup, stuffing with gravy and corn on the cob. Here you go." I took the plate. Why on earth had he not only noticed what I ate but brought me a plate of it.
