Prologue - Bad Luck

Generations have passed since humans implemented a powerful global technology: alter reality at a thought. Installed deep within the earth, and engineered to last millenia, is the ultimate forgotten artifact of ancient man.

Today, humans have descended to a technological dark age. All knowledge of the old devices is lost, save what can be scrounged by avid historians and mages, remnants of a foregone class who can freely use the system.

Follow the blacksmith's nephew as he begins his journey to magehood, one frought with equal parts elation and horror.
