Author's Note

Winter in Gotham City; snow falls between the skyscrapers that rise into the sky. The shops are closed, temperatures are dropping to minus degrees, and Christmas trees have been decorated. Bruce Wayne throws his annual benefits gala. The bats just want to spend a restful holiday, since the death of the last Robin.

But Gotham is just as unpredictable, as dangerous.

Villains wreak havoc across the city. Heroes are lost. It's a race against time to save what they love most. The Joker broke out of Blackgate and is nowhere to be found.

Batman must face a decision: The soul of Gotham or his family?
What will he choose?
Will he be able to save what matters most?
