2012. France. Patrice Andrews has recently inherited a large home in France from her late mother, where her family used to meet. Somewhat intimidated by the vast amounts of history that surround her, she finds several unsent letters addressed to an R. Summers, and signed "C", and is determined to uncover the full history of their love story. But finding the full truth is hard when one of them doesn't seem to exist... 1787. France. Clover Lawrence is forced into a loveless marriage with Lord Dewsbury in the event of her sister's death. A few months into their marriage, she meets Rose in a secret annex in the attic, and they eventually fall in love. But, endings can happen as suddenly as beginnings, and they are slowly running out of time together. Meanwhile, whispers of "revolution" cause tensions across the country. Will Rose and Clover find each other again? Or will their story be stuck in the sea of history.
