21-year-old private detective Nick Ward didn't believe in fairytales. But when a storybook mysteriously appears in his apartment and a mysterious girl shows up at his doorstep, Nick learns he is a part of a world he never knew existed, a world he is destined to save.

Thrust into a mystical world of princesses and evil queens, glass slippers and poisoned apples, knights and dragons, Nick must learn how to fulfill his destiny, and save the characters he once thought only existed in stories. Nick learns his own story is intertwined within the storybook and its characters, and realizes what he has to do.

It's his job to get people their happily ever afters.
