Part 1 : The sleeping sickness

In the small town of Colorado Springs, Dr. Michaela Quinn's family lives happily with there first daughter Katie, Colleen, and Brian; but later they discover that Katie becomes very ill and no one can seem to figure out what's wrong with her until they get some help from a great friend of theirs, Cloud Dancing.
