Ember Addams is the cousin of both Pugsley and Wednesday. Her mother, Ophelia Frump, is Morticia's sister. However, since Ophelia died when Ember was young, Gomez and Morticia took her in. However, when a prank on her cousin, Pugsley, happens, and she and Wednesday get themselves involved, they end up getting sent to Nevermore Academy.

Ember is, at first, repulsed by the place, but soon, when a monster, two boys and a delicious murder case gets involved, she soon realises she has more to do with everything than she thought.
