hopes of becoming an excellent man like His parents had named him Hideaki, written with the Kanji for "excellent" and "bright". When he was 8 years old, his little sister was born. She was so much brighter, livelier than anyone else, warmer than the sun itself, and yet, her time in this world was to be shortened by illness. He dedicated himself to his studies, more than ever before, he already had it all figured out: he would graduate highschool and go to university before getting a prestigious job, so he could afford his little sister's medical bills and surgery. That was his one and only reason to continue pushing forward. ...He remembers the afternoons he'd spend sitting by her hospital bed while they both read novels together, fantasy had always been their favorite genre. He remembers how she'd continuously pester him for new books whenever he went to visit, and how he'd playfully mess up her hair in retaliation. He was doing completely alright, he was happy. Until she was gone. - - - - - The story of a young man learning how to navigate living in another world as he learns to let go of his past and make peace with his future, even as he struggles to deal with a terribly inconvenient curse, being reincarnated as possibly the worst character, the imminent threat of death and destruction at every turn, and a crazy god. (Will probably be updated quite irregularly, English is not my first language and this is my first novel, so bear with me!)
