After fleeing for her life, Evangeline Bain found herself lost. Worried about freezing to death in the cold of the night, she hurriedly searched for some sort of shelter. She had happened upon a mansion. It was beautiful and much bigger than any home she'd ever seen. No one answered the door when she had knocked and the door even opened by itself! Too scared to spend the night in the snow, she allowed herself in, believing the home was empty. Oh, how wrong she was. The place was indeed occupied and one of the occupants wasn't too happy that she was intruding. The other, however, found himself aiding the young woman. Half reluctant, they allowed her to stay.
