Well, okay, we could consider this teeny-tiny crush Hector's had on Robert since they first met, but we don't care about that, do we?
Hector is an adult. He can control whatever this thing is.
Sure, he is a mess, and a bit awkward, and... um, probably a bit childish, but the last thing he would ever do is act on it, especially after the day of Manda's graduation party. He would never want to make Robert uncomfortable.
Besides, it's not like Robert likes him back, right? Right.
