Karl is 15 and hadn't had an amazing life. This is his 3rd time with a different foster family this year, he isn't hopeful about anything. Not only that but Karl recently realised he's transgender and has to hide it from everyone. He tried getting his new 'parents' to use his new name but they don't like it.
