Chapter 1: The Good Old Days

Fair was not a word in Lauren Peterson's vocabulary. She had been aware of that for awhile, because in her life, things were simply unfair.

She had lost her mom. She had lost her dad. And now, she was losing her home too.

Her new start in a new state with the family she barely knows was quite literally the definition of unfair.

Coupled with school problems, boy issues, and growing up, Lauren was well aware that Fair would never be a word in her vocabulary.
