Description

The method of sublimation is used to transfer colours to many kinds of textiles and materials. Using specialised sublimation ink and a sheet of paper that has been chemically treated, an image is made digitally using a programme like Photoshop. The transfer medium is then covered with this digital print. The picture will transfer onto the polymers in the transfer materials once heat and pressure are applied. Sound a little too intricate? Not to worry. Simply said, sublimation is a method for transferring pictures to particular kinds of materials. The transmission is facilitated by the application of pressure and heat. It is a permanent transfer since it takes place at the molecular level.
