Maxi lives with her half-sister Rosetta, father & stepmother on the sprawling Croyso Estate. Her mother died giving birth to her and her father married very soon after, his new wife having already given birth to Rosetta. Maxi is the oldest by 6 months, but her awkwardness embarrasses her father who favours her graceful younger sister. Rosetta is a social butterfly. Maxi is a moth.
