Each child born in the dark year - the year in which light was pushed out, and the darkness took over - were cursed with unimaginable power. A power that set in motion a war that would last centuries.

Twenty children from all over the country lived through their first year; lived through the Dark Year. Because of this, they were taken from their families and hidden. They were a threat. They were dangerous. They had magic no one could fathom. They were a weapon.
