Thousand years ago Elijah Mikaelson fell in love with woman named Astrid. They married and few years later Astrid got pregnant. She died giving birth to their daughter.

While grieving the loss of his wife Elijah completely forget that know he has a daughter. He even blamed her for her mothers death.
