The Shift

" Wait!" I yell as he tries to walk away from me. He turns not looking in my eyes.

" What?" He asks. My heart aches at the tone he uses. I ignore it.

" Please don't go." I beg. His eyes finally find mine. He sighs.

" Why?" He asks. I can see all the pain in his eyes, slowly tearing at my heart.

" Because....." I say to frightened of the truth. He smirks, but the pain on his face is clear.

" That's what I thought." He says turning around. It's time to admit it.

" Because I'm in love with you Henry." I say, tears brimming my eye lashes. He stops.
